DELICIOUS FOOD! Really good food, quick service. SOMEtimes my food wasn't 100% correct, but it was fixed. There is always an employee here or there that doesn't do a good job, but the managers I have come into contact have been accommodating, and the rest of the employees are above and beyond great. Overall, I love Smash Burger. My Only overall suggestion is that I wish they were open a little later!

A small menu, but with good enough variety and served fresh and fast. I'm not a fan of rosemary fries

Hopefully they are just working out the kinks of being a new place. Came here with the wife and kid the other weekend. Signed up for their Smash Club and got a Buy one get one free coupon, so I figured, let's check out the hype. AMBIANCE- place is new, so it is pretty clean. On the walls they have large letters that spell out "SMASH", "SIZZLE" and other words that I suppose are burger related. Thought it was pretty obnoxious to be honest, but the overall cleanliness of the place was quite refreshing. This place has plenty of booths, so feel free to take the fam for a cozy meal. SERVICE- so you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. When we first arrived, we had someone greet us and ask us if we've ever been there. We said "no" and they began to describe the menu to us. I may not be a genius, but I don't think ordering a burger is all that difficult. Later on, this same person seemed to be holding up traffic as a large line began to form after we arrived. People bringing out the food are friendly, and are happy to accommodate any request you may have after the fact. MENU- the concept is similar to that of 5 Guys. Choose the size of your burger/chicken sandwich (smash or double smash), choose from the free toppings "grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, etc...), premium toppings (cheeses, bacon, guacamole) and you're good to go. They also have fried sides- onion rings, french fries, sweet potato fries and smash fries (fries cooked in rosemary and oil). They also have specialty sandwiches that have pre-selected toppings (cherry burger, mushroom swiss, etc...). You can still mix and match those burgers as you see fit. They also have Haggen Daas ice cream as the base of their shakes. Shakes are a bit expensive, but looked pretty tasty. FOOD- the wife got the mushroom swiss burger and I got some burger that had bacon and fried onion straws on it (the cowboy burger perhaps?). We also got a side of smash fries and sweet potato fries. The fries (both smash and sweet potato) were decent. I like the rosemary concoction on the smash fries, but I hate that they were thin cut fries. Thin cut fries are super weak. The burgers were juicy, although VERY greasy. Someone needed to pat them burgers with a stack of napkins. Grease aside they were tasty, but that grease was a bit off putting. OVERALL- it's ayt. I don't know if I would go out of my way to go to this place, but it's a pretty good burger joint. They get busy in waves, so be wary of that when you decide to go. CELEBRITY RATING- Owen Wilson

Good burgers, for a chain. The Rosemary Fires are really good though. Also some very original burger combos. You order at a counter and they bring it to you. Really just an upscale fast food place. I have no complaints, but pricey for fast food. You won't be dissapointed but I don't think you will be absolutly blown away either. If I'm getting a specialty fast food burger, I would probably choose Five Guys over this.

I love there burgers, very good very tasty. You must try the.smash fries, with rosemary and olive oil. I also ordered a Boston cooler and was made perfectly.

Upscale fast food at it's best. Restaurant quality burger as good or better than one you would get at Red Robin or Applebee's. I had the Avocado Club burger which was amazing, bun was nice and soft, veggies were crisp and delicious and it was a very large portion of meat as well. ( I did get the larger size burger ) I also had haystack onion rings which were the thinnest onion rings I have ever had. They were very tasty and came with a slightly spicy sauce for dipping. I had the herbal green tea and it was very good too. I was surprised how quickly we got our food. This is a ways from our house but would be worth an occasional trip for a great burger.

Pros: - Regionalized menus - Alcohol available for purchase (if that's your type of drink) Cons: - "Just another burger joint" Best fit: - Want to try something new in the fast casual burger arena Easy to understand metaphor: - Five Guys with lower quality burgers, but a more diverse set of options to choose from

Let me start by saying the food is pretty good. The buger I had was better than at a similar burger place I tried called Mikey's -- that was also a thin burger, but bordered on burned rather than charred. It was also beyond greasy. The burger at Smashburger tasted like a better cut of beef was used. I also ordered a salted caramel milkshake and, while good, it didn't taste salted nor really caramel-y, either. The fries were good, although I can't say they're better even than McDonalds. Cleanliness was also pretty good, although the place was dead when I came in for lunch, so they had plenty of time to clean up. So why 3 stars instead of at least a 4? Well, it's still only a 6oz burger (the "big" size) for nearly $8 (just the burger, no fries, drink, etc), and they really nickel and dime you if you go the customized route, quickly climbing to a $10 burger if you customize with "premium" items like bacon or avocado. I also didn't like that they charged a premium for getting a healthy drink on the kid's menu instead of a soda. $.50 more for a little juice box instead of a Mountain Dew? And they weren't willing to substitute the kid's meal soda towards the milkshake. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I don't like restaurants that don't budge toward the customer. Anyway, after all my rambling, I can say I like the food here, but likely won't be back again.

Smash is my go-to burger spot. My order has been correct 3 out of 3 times that I've ordered on Yelp! I like the classic smash. The portion is generous. The spicy buffalo fries were underwhelming; just a dusting of "buffalo" salt. I prefer the smash fries or the regular fries. Be careful, the shoestring size sneaks up on you. I was stuffed before I knew it.
There are several burger places along the Orchard Lake Strip in W. Bloomfield/Farmington Hills. Some are great, others, not so much. Went yesterday with a friend from NYC who'd been wanting to try it, as had I. My son had warned me that it was "just ok" and he is, unfortunately, correct. Not bad, not great. The burger was just so-so - on the thin side, and nothing special. The lettuce was pretty wet, and dogged up the bun. Heavy on the mustard/ketchup, light on the onion and pickle. Fries were pretty good. Everybody working there is VERY nice, including the manager who stops by tables and asks how you're doing. Nice folks, fair product.

After a tough round of golf, our foursome recently went to this Smashburger location for lunch. I've been to other Smashburger locations and their food was always very good. I ordered the "regular" Smashburger with everything, and my friend and I shared an order of Smash Fries. And top that off with a large Coke with unlimited refills . . . a great lunch. Although I wouldn't rate their burger as being the best . . I would rate the Shamrock Burger in Utica, Michigan and the Shake Shack Burger in NYC as my favorites with the Smashburger and the In-N-Out Burgers in Los Angeles tied for second place. The food is really good, but what singles out this particular Smashburger location is their customer service which is outstanding. The host was very friendly and he ask a couple of times if our burgers were prepared to our satisfaction, if we needed refills, and if we were happy with the taste of our food. It wasn't just our group, but he visited every table in the restaurant.. Overall, I'l give Smashburger-West Bloomfield three (3) stars for their food and the cleanliness of their establishment; and I'll add another star for the friendliness and professionalism of their staff. If you love a great burger and a friendly environment, I recommend that you visit this establishment if you want to have a four (4) star experience.

Went on Saturday. I got a regular Original Smashburger and a regular Smashfries. The burger was good (better than Steak & Shake and Freddy's), albeit a bit greasy. The Smashfries, however were wonderful! Rosemary & olive oil were so good---not overpowering, not wimpy. The fries were crispy, hot, and delicious! $11 for a burger, fries, and drink, though, was a bit expensive, so this will be an occasional visit.

I LOVE Smashburger! I used to eat it when I was in Phoenix and had no idea that we had them here in Michigan. I drove by this location before, and finally made it in yesterday. It's exactly like the ones I've been to in Phoenix, but the menu has a few different items that are on this menu. They still have the same items, but just under slightly different names. When I browsed the menu, I noticed the Motor City Burger, and decided to grab that instead of my usual. It came on Pretzel bread, with the haystack onions (that I am addicted to) and two types of cheese. I loved it! I love Smash Burger, and really enjoyed my time here. Service was friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I love the haystack onions here, and I can't seem to get enough of them when I eat them. I don't know what they do to the burgers here, but they come out awesome every single time. I love you smash burger!

I got to try out Smashburger on their media day a long time ago (I finagled myself an invite over Twitter!) and it was delicious. I seem to go to the WB and Troy locations equally, even though I live about 5 minutes from the Troy location, and yesterday I stopped in to the WB location. First off, yes, it's expensive, but they always do coupons. Even on your receipt, if you do their online survey you can walk away with free Smashfries or a side on your next visit. We had BOGO (buy 1 get 1 free) entree coupons this visit. I tried the Truffle/Mushroom burger this time which was pretty good. No Swiss because I can't do cheese but the truffle mayo and the mushrooms were excellent. I love burgers but don't eat them that often and this one tasted great. For the second entree, we got my favorite, the create-your-own chicken sandwich with their Michigan Cherry BBQ sauce and pickles ... yum. Smashburger is the only place I know of that has this type of sauce (I assume their non-MI locations don't have it, also) and it's delicious. I will say that the orders were a little screwed up - my chicken sandwich came out with no sauce, just pickles, but we had a side thing of the bbq sauce that I just basted it with - and someone asked for a regular bun but got a pretzel bun. Overall, nothing life-shattering, though, so we just went with it. Oh and their Smashfries are interesting, too - they've got rosemary and other spices on it. Try the sweet potato fries as well.

I'm love the hamburgers, hot dogs, sweet potato fries and the milk shakes. I'm pretty plain in the topping I get I'm pretty much a cheese, mustard and ketchup only kind of person so I'm no help with their specialty burgers. The staff is nice, the place is clean, service fast and they have outside seating.

Love this burger joint...love it love it!!! 3 reasons: 1. Fresh tasting juicy burger, and good bread (that's THE definition of a good burger...period) 2. Coupons!!!!! Just sign up and you get a deal I like it saves $$. 3. The manager is nice...The jury is out on the rest of the staff, I think one girl is nice and one not so nice sooo that makes it even. One issue is they need to restock the area by the drinks I was looking for a knife for like 10 minutes and my burger lost its super hotness.

I was very impressed with this quick food concept. I never wanted to try it because I hated the name but that has nothing to do with my review. Everything seemed to be well thought out and the employees at this location were so pleasant and were moving quickly. The bread, meat and the ingredients all worked together. Bread was perfect, it was soft and tasted great. The only negative is the prices, they were high for this type of chain. I think I rather pay a few more dollars and eat hamburgers at some of the other popular staple joints.

Fries are outstanding - you can definitely taste the Rosemary, and they are not greasy like those "Other" Guys. They are sliced thin like J. Alexanders, and come in a generous portion that can easily be shared. The burger is decent and not so big that you feel you overate. Definitely worth stopping by for a "snack" of fries and ice-tea accompanied by friends you can chill with, outside on the patio.

This place got pretty good reviews, so I figured I'd try it. After promising favor after favor, I got a few friends to come along with. First impression? You can't miss it. The sign looks like the GAMESTOP sign. Same colors. Possibly same font. The service: Super friendly. It seemed that they were overstaffed though. About 5+ people in the kitchen, but what do i know about running a restaurant? The food: I ordered a Michigan Olive burger (Meat + cheese + green Olives). It was...just ok. Nothing too special. My mouth didn't explode with flavors, but it was different. I've certainly ever had a burger with olives. But it's nothing I cant whip up at home. The smash fries were ok as well. I couldn't really taste the rosemary they put, and it seemed like it was sprinkled on there as an afterthought. My friend's smash fries were VERY oily. I mean, we could pour it out of the container. Not cool. The Haystack onion rings were great though! Definitely try them if you go here. They are super-thinly cut, and fried to perfection. I also had the fried pickles. They were pretty good. Not great, but meh. The layout/atmosphere: Great! Lots of white and reds, for a clean, yet modern look. I was digging the benches. So everything here I liked, except the food. But I didn't hate it.

We decided to try this place because we had heard that they were "new" and wanted to give them a try. I ordered the bigger sized burger that came with lettuce tomatoes cheese and jalapeno peppers. My wife had the standard sized classic. We split an order of the smash fries. They are herbal seasoned fires and were quite nice. My burger was a little tough to eat since it was very juicy and the bun started to fall apart. But I enjoyed it. It was not bad at all. My wife said she liked her classic smash burger. We both had iced teas. I don't know what has happened to fast food pricing recently. Two burgers, a small split order of fries and two iced teas came to close to $ 19.00. It was good, but it was not all that good. The burgers were decent sized but not huge. For this kind of money, I can think of better places to go. 3 stars.

Order the rosemary fries! And the Chicken Avocado Club (without bacon is my choice) with a fried egg on top. Your mouth will be thanking you for days... This place is just seriously delicious. I wish they were open later or had a drive-thru system but it's okay. It's worth the wait!! Trust me.

I love love love this restaurant, went with family, for the first time and the staff was SO friendly! We ordered, and they brought our food to our table, mixed up one order a bit, but had the right one out with apologies in less than a minute. I think the burger was the best I've ever had, I got the classic burger, and it was amazing! Couldn't have enjoyed my meal more! This place is a must go!!

I consider myself to be a burger connoisseur... Lol! Smashburger is definitely a contender! The staff is friendly, the burger are always hot and juicy. Please don't sleep on the rosemary fries, they are amazing. You should definitely give them a visit, it will be well worth it.

The "Smash Fries" are Righteous! Tossed in a Rosemary, Garlic Olive Oil. AWESOME! Had the Bbq, Bacon Cheeseburger. Pretty killer. Love the crust on a burger patty that's cooked on a flat top. I will be back again! WARNING: Is hard not to go order seconds of the Smash Fries!

Recently, I went here for lunch with a couple of work colleagues. I wouldn't call our trip a smash. The black bean burger was the usual, over-spiced affair. Fries were nothing special. The veggie frites (flash-fried veggies) were pedestrian and, for the price, few in number. While I would choose this place over Five Guys Burgers and Fries, neither approaches the quality of Burgrz. If you're in the neighborhood and hungry, Smashburger is OK but I wouldn't make a special trip.

The toss up was between five guys and smash burger, which we've never gone to. After reading the reviews, we figured let's try it out. It was sub par. I got a gluten free bun and it was so dry, I peeled most of it off. This really made the burger (swiss and mushroom with bacon added) the feature. The burger was ok, rather dry, not much taste to it. The "smash" fries were so oily when they were delivered that I had to pat them down a bit. Needless to say, it wasn't worth my once a week eat at a restaurant meal.

Not bad, but the anticipation was better than the final product. Putting out uniformly medium-well-done Angus burgers puts Smashburger squarely in the middle of the pack as burger joints go. The meat is undistinguishable from dozens of other burger places, and has little flavor of its own to make it stand out. To me, this is a common problem with places preparing this meat this way. The jalapeno slices on the Spicy Baja burger were a bit odd-- there was a good number of them, but their flavor was so muted that it was completely overwhelmed by the guacamole. The Smashfries, crispy and lightly seasoned with spices, had a lot of promise, but being fried right through, had little potato flavor remaining. I commend Smashburger, however, for making thorough food allergen information available on their web site. It was very helpful in making our decision to visit, and kept us from ordering a couple of items that might have been a problem. The service was prompt and courteous, and the food was prepared and served fresh. I just wish the food were a bit more flavorful.

So smashburger.. I like it I like it a lot . Currently my wife's pregnancy pleasure.. Ok with me. Burgers made with fresh ground beef smashed on that broiler so you get that yummy caramelization.. Ahhhh love it. I've been getting either the bacon cheeseburger or the spice Baja with freshly sliced jalapeños "amazing!".. I usually have them substitute the onions for the haystack onions on the burger.. Always the big smash size.. Note to self, request a double big smash next time. The buns are usually fresh and toasted. Veggies fresh. Coke cold. I'm not sure when the shoe string fry revolution started, but these dudes are on it.. At least they're always fresh. So try it out.

This place was GREAT when it first open... and the last few months it has gone down the toilet!! Long story short: the girl that waited on me today had a bad attitude. but the worst thing was when the young man behind the counter sneezed right into his bare hands twice and did not wash his hands after! it was so gross! and he handles peoples food???????? so dissapointed that this place has gone down hill. :(

Decent service most of the time...if they get something wrong they take the easy way out, I ordered smash fries and received regular fries, after I sent it back I got the same fries just thrown back in the frier with seasoning sprinkled on top and oil dripping all over...

I was able to try Smashburger for a special social media luncheon they held. I had never heard of the concept, so was eager to try it and learn a bit about the company and what they are about. Granted we went before it was open to the public, but I instantly loved the fresh, clean look of the restaurant. The place is fast-casual, so you order your food at a register and then they bring it out to you. I was impressed with the electronic menu - very sleek and futuristic. The prices were very reasonable (about $6 for a burger and $2-$3 for sides) - not bad for being many moons ahead of fast food. The food consists of your typical custom burger fare, plus a variety of unique side items, hot dogs, salads, etc. We tried the fried pickles (delish and hand-breaded), smashfries, sweet potato fries and veggie frites. All were delicious. I loved the veggie frites most because of their uniqueness and I didn't feel guilty feeding them to my daughter. I ordered the Michigan Olive burger, topped with green olives. It was delicious. My hubby also enjoyed his BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger. The patties were thinner than some burger establishments, which I liked, but I know the hubby would've liked it to be thicker. (They are called Smashburger because they literally smash the meat with a cookie cutter-type contraption.) We were served a sample of a milkshake - Oreo - and that was yummy, too, and you could tell it was made with high-quality ice cream (Haagen-Daz). Overall, I really enjoyed the concept and the food. The only reason I knocked them down a star was the excessive salt used. Many of us who tried the food found ourselves guzzling water for the rest of the day. I may just ask them not to season my burger patty next time. Give it a shot! And welcome, Smashburger, to the east side of the state. Look forward to your growth (and please come up here to northern Oakland county at some point)!

Location is good. It is in the strip mall with Stage Deli and a DQ. There is a traffic light at the end of this strip mall which makes it easy and safe to turn left on to Orchard Lake Road. The customer service is just ok. I wish he had asked what I wanted on the burger. Once I sat down I realized that they offer Haagen Dazs shakes! I wish the order taker had asked if I wanted a shake. I know that would be repetitive to ask all of the customers, but maybe ask every so often. I bet they would get more sales. The burger was fresh, juicy and delicious. I had the smashfries with rosemary, garlic and oil, but they were very plain. I could not taste the herbs. They reminded me of McD's fries. I would not order these again. They do not have caffeine free Diet Coke which I would have liked since I was dining in the late afternoon. My order was BBQ Bacon Chedar Smash burger (small), Smashfries, and bottle water for a total of $11.63. A bit too much even though the burger was quite delicious. Overall, a good place. I would not go out of my way however.

The veggie burger was good but maybe a bit too big and slightly overdone. I really liked the avocado and peppers that topped it, though. Those Smash Fries are excellent! Had a bit of my son's bacon bbq burger and it was very good, too. Will be back.

We loved this place and have been back 4 times now. If you want a delicious burger, no pretense, and not too pricey, then this is the place for you. It has been clean every time we have gone in. The ordering sometimes takes a few minutes depending on how many people are in line. The service has always been great- anytime we ask for anything, they get it for us right away. The food speaks for itself. I usually order my favorite burger the SPICY BAJA and it comes with guacamole and jalapeño slices. It is fresh and juicy every time. I like how you can customize things just the way you want. It is a great meal and decent cost. The kids love it here too! Will be back again soon!

I went there a few times in the past and the food was ok. five guys is much better and is down the street. The thing that makes this place a place i will never visit again is the staff, managers and owners of the place. I ate there once and was in a hurry and I forgot my wallet (2 weeks ago actually, early march 2013). I know that forgetting my wallet is my fault but the way it was handled or not handled was very disturbing. after i realized i forgot my wallet, i called and they said they had it in their safe. When i got there the wallet was there but $120 was taken from the wallet. One server told me that another server had picked up the wallet and that it was on video. I contacted the manager who said he would review the tape and get back to me the same day. He did not call me back. the next i spoke with the owner and he said he would review the tape and call me back. he did not call me back. two days later i called again and the owner said he reviewed the tape and the girl did take the wallet but immediately went to a location where video could not be seen. That gave me my answer as to what happened...The owner said he was waiting until the girl was back on the schedule to confront her. I have still not heard from him. i called back two more times and each time they place me on hold until i was forced to hang up...they probably split the money between all of them. obviously my opinion of this has some biased motives but it doesn't take a genius to see that this establishment is not a trustworthy environment and call me old school but that is still important to me.

My first visit to Smashburger went pretty well and I found fried pickles as a side offering (which I fell in love with) - so I was excited when my friend suggested we meet there for dinner the other night. We both ordered the chicken avocado club sandwiches and of course my favorite side. After two bites however, my friend found a long piece of hair inside of her sandwich. We were both horrified to say the least. My friend immediately brought this to the attention of the manager who denied that it had come from any of his staff. My friend pointed out that it was in the middle of her sandwich and also noted that not all of the kitchen staff were wearing hats. The manager offered no apology and ignored us. He did not even approach our table to see if there was any way he could resolve the situation. We had obviously lost both of our appetites and left soon after. I have serious concerns about the sanitary conditions of the kitchen at this restaurant and would never return there.

There's nothing really new here, just another incarnation of the fast casual burger chain like Five Guys. It was good for what it was, but not something I'd make a destination on a regular basis--it's just not terribly interesting. Burgers, chicken sandwiches, and hot dogs (slightly confusing), milkshakes and fries. Their smashfries were good with rosemary and garlic, though the name was confusing I thought they might be like smashed fingerlings or something. Oreo milkshake was awesome because of the use of vanilla bean Haagen Daaz ice cream, but I wish they had chocolate ice cream too. They do a chocolate shake with vanilla ice cream + syrup, which is not chocolatey enough for moi. Burgers were good but nothing that special. I guess I feel like we really don't need another burger chain since it doesn't seem like Smashburger has anything to offer that other chains don't, but for what it is it's perfectly fine, good even.

We made a first visit to Smashburger today. To start with, the place is bright and cheery, and the cashier was super friendly. High marks for cleanliness, first impressions, and overall customer service. My daughter loved her chicken fingers. She even remarked a couple times about how good they tasted. This is a highly unusual occurrence, so an extra star just for pleasing the teen! I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger--a large smashburger patty topped with cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, cherry bbq sauce and crispy fried onions. Even though I really don't like "well done" burgers, I did appreciate the nice char on the outer edges, and thought the flavors were great. That said, I felt that this burger was decidedly dryer than say Five-Guys who also makes well-done burgers--yet manages to keep them juicy. Maybe it's the "smash" thing--as in, smashing all the juices out??? My wife enjoyed her mushroom and swiss burger, and we sampled regular fries which were fine, and the sweet potato which were excellent--gently tossed in rosemary and olive oil and served piping hot, like they just came out of the fryer. These, along with the burgers, were seasoned quite nicely. I didn't detect too much salt, as another reviewer mentioned. So maybe they've improved that area. Another plus is the choice of buns--classic egg, multi-grain, chipotle and pretzel. My wife and I both ordered the multi-grain, which had a nice taste and texture. Smashburger offers haagen dazs shakes, three kinds of iced tea, and the usual coke beverage selection. Prices weren't outrageous, and unlike Five-Guys, the friendly server brings your order to you. Totally enjoyable experience. I'll be back.

Ive been here twice, got the Smashburger. It was good the first time, second time, it tasted horrible. The meat just had a weird flavor. Just yuck, tasted like cow you know what. I was wishing I went to Five Guys at that point. I would steer clear of this location, or just go to Five Guys whose burgers are actually quite good.

Living out toward the Bloomfield area, I'm always looking for new places to try/frequent. Smashburger is new to the area and was the perfect choice for a quick lunch. There are a lot of similar build-your-own-burger type places around so I was hoping that they'd have a few things to make them stand out. Immediately at the door we were greeted by an employee to give us a run-down of the menu, which I thought was helpful (especially if you've never been to a place that offers build-your-own-burgers). I can only imagine somebody getting to the front of the line, without a clue of what they want and picking and choosing the items slowly one by one. I was excited to see Faygo bottles as a beverage option. That always wins points in my book. I opted to create my own burger and was most pleased with the spicy chipotle bun. I was hoping for some sort of differentiator as far as the toppings, but they were pretty standard. I split an order of the chili cheese fries. The fresh jalapenos on top were the highlight of the meal. The side options are definitely something worth coming back for. Definitely wanted to try the Sweet Potato Smashfries, but that'll wait for a return trip and after my first visit, I'll make it a point to come back. I hope the service and atmosphere maintains long after their opening weeks.

Went with a friend for dinner. This was by far the worst burger I have ever had, ever. It was smashed all right, thin, dried out, tasteless and overpriced. Fries were cold. Very disappointing considering it was not cheap. Employees were friendly, that is the only nice thing. Five Guys is a million times better.

"I'd like one classic with mayo added, and one classic big smash." "You want both big smashes.?" "No, one classic with mayo added, and one big smash." "You want the big smash to be classic too?" "Yes." "Do you want everything on the classic, plus mayo?" "Yes." "Because you know, the classic comes with American cheese, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and smash sauce." "Yes, I know." "So what do you want?" "I want the classic, only with mayo added." "You want which ones?" "I want the classic, just as it is on the menu, with mayo too." "On both?" "No. Just on the regular smash, not on the big smash." "You want a big smash?" In fairness to the person* behind the counter, this Smashburger franchise is located in the little strip mall called the Boardwalk, on the dreaded "West Bloomfield south of Maple" stretch of Orchard Lake Road. The shoppers and diners in this little hell on earth are so annoying that I once took my kids on an excursion to the Boardwalk just so we could observe these creatures in their natural habitat. So there's no phone ordering, no internet ordering, just standing in line for 15 minutes so you can have an inane chat with the counter person, only to be presented 15 minutes after that with a very ordinary burger and a tiny cup of flavorless fried pickles. Never again.

GRRRRR...they got my order wrong again and tried taking my food before I was finished....I asked for a box and wited 15 minutes...at that point I wrapped my food in the serving paper and left....lucky for the the food is good, because the service sucks. Get it together.

I heard Smashburger was like 5 Guys, but I didn't find this to be true. Smashburger was far better than 5 Guys (which I like). The spicy burger I had was great. Fresh Jalapenos and the sauce was good. The burger itself was very good. The Smashburger fries were also very good. I think there may have been rosemary flavoring the fries?? The interior is very classy. The atmosphere is nice and not too loud. We will defiantly be back!

It was super busy when we came in so you would wonder why there were only two registers at the front... Anyways I ordered the Original w/ various toppings and so did my friends I was with. The only thing that I liked was the basket the food came in, other than that there was really nothing too special about the burger! I'd rather pay a few bucks more and eat at Red Coat a few blocks down!

My food was fantastic!! The meat (burger) was seasoned to perfection, not too salty or bland. It was just right. The Smash fries with Rosemary, olive oil and garlic were absolutely delicious!! They were perfect. I love the taste of rosemary and this had the perfect amount. The only thing I wish I could change would be the type of fry that they use. They were thin, almost shoe string, i wish they were a little thicker. I had the fried pickles and they were SUPER tasty!!! I will say they were salty, just on the right side of too salty. I could only eat a couple of them. I would absolutely recommend stopping in. Five Guys has some competition!

A co-worker has been raving about this place and she took us once we got in town. I had the Spicy Baja and Haystack Onions. The ingredients were fresh and the service was prompt. I would go again if I lived in the area.

How do they get the burgers to taste soooo good??? If you haven't been here, you're missing out. My family dines here often. Try the pretzel bun. it really adds to the flavor of the entire burger. Like, literally, go now!

I was very disappointed in Smashburger. I had heard great things about it from friends and checked it out. I was VERY disappointed. The was excellent, but unfortunately the service was not! The order experience was terrible. It's a new restaurant, so I understand people have to be trained, but the cashier was snotty when I placed my order and didn't understand the menu. Another staff member ran into me with dirty plates while I was waiting to get soda, and the staff member who delivered the food never said a word. I don't expect bend over backwards service... but a little would be nice. Five Guys has a products just as good, and it's always fun to go in there... Too bad Smashburger... I'd wish you luck, but I wouldn't mean it!

The goods: Super friendly service, cool atmosphere, really clean dining area, build your own burger as well as several burgers and chicken sandwiches on the menu, FRIED PICKLES!!!, burger was tasty, rosemary & olive oil on the fries which is different and good The bads: guacamole and bacon are offered on the "menu" burgers and sandwiches, but not on the "build your own". What's the deal with that? The verdict: Good burgers in a nice, clean, dining room, with great service. This is what it's all about! Will definitely be back for another Smashburger!

The individual hamburgers served at restaurants are prepared using everything including lettuce, onion, tomato, and sliced pickles as well as melted cheese on the patty or crumbled on top. American restaurants also serve veggie burgers for those who don't relish meat. Cheeseburgers are also hot favorite in the United States.

(3)Mark Z.
I love there burgers, very good very tasty. You must try the.smash fries, with rosemary and olive oil. I also ordered a Boston cooler and was made perfectly.
(4)Khaoula B.
Delicious guacamole Burger and jalapeno Burger!! Their bun' are really good!!ans So tasty The french fries are not very good...
(5)Paula K.
(5)Joey P.
Burgers were tasty but for the $$$$ I was expecting a little more bang for my buck, probably won't be back no time to soon
(2)Naveen N.
Great tasting burger and french fries. Service was quick and friendly. Great alternative to standard fast food places.
(4)Marzuq H.

(4)Liz R.
Our first trip to a Smashburger together, and we were pleased with the food, service and location. I got the Truffle Mushroom burger, which sounds fancy but is just (truffled) mayo, sautéed mushrooms and Swiss. Ken tried their regular Smashburger. We split fries and pickles, and I got a chocolate shake. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked and yummy. The cashier was friendly, letting us take our time ordering and offering suggestions. The manager (maybe owner?) visited our table to make sure our visit was perfect, and he chatted with us a while about some "secret" menu items. The location was bright and open. Plenty of seating. They share a parking lot in a busy strip mall. Even with all the comparably priced burger joints opening on every corner, we would return to Smash.

(4)Julie S.
(4)Connie C.
Vitamin water on tap. Burger is greasy but fine. Lots of toppings. Overpriced. Fries were yummy, I like rosemary.
(3)Wadim S.
Great burger spot. Food was delicious. The classic burger is where its at! cozy and comfortable interior and friendly fast service. What more can you want. Make sure to try the shakes!
(5)Amy B.
(5)Liz P.
(4)Mel B.
(4)Joiya M.
(5)Shaun P.
(4)Elana S.
(3)Minh S.
(3)Honest Z.
This is my favorite burger place I like it more than Redcoat Tavern. Their sweet potato fries are to die for.
(5)Richard F.
3 stars.
(3)Wilma A.
Order the rosemary fries! And the Chicken Avocado Club (without bacon is my choice) with a fried egg on top. Your mouth will be thanking you for days... This place is just seriously delicious. I wish they were open later or had a drive-thru system but it's okay. It's worth the wait!! Trust me.
(4)Jenny N.
(5)Harvest H.
I consider myself to be a burger connoisseur... Lol! Smashburger is definitely a contender! The staff is friendly, the burger are always hot and juicy. Please don't sleep on the rosemary fries, they are amazing. You should definitely give them a visit, it will be well worth it.
(4)Scott B.
(5)Bill B.
(3)natalie a.
(2)Edgar P.
(3)Jonathon J.
(4)Heather M.
(1)John P.
Decent service most of the time...if they get something wrong they take the easy way out, I ordered smash fries and received regular fries, after I sent it back I got the same fries just thrown back in the frier with seasoning sprinkled on top and oil dripping all over...
(4)Lauren W.
(4)Mary C.
(3)Michael L.
Cool place, I like the setup. The food is pretty good. I'll probably go back
(4)Jill B.
The veggie burger was good but maybe a bit too big and slightly overdone. I really liked the avocado and peppers that topped it, though. Those Smash Fries are excellent! Had a bit of my son's bacon bbq burger and it was very good, too. Will be back.
(4)Sasha D.
One of my favorite places to eat. Every sandwich/burger is delicious. My favorite is definitely the Motor City burger with a side of Smash fries.

I have been to Smashburger 4 times, and let me tell you that the burgers are AMAZING. The smashfries have olive oil and rosemary! YUM!
